ofthecertificationsystemsforeasiercomprehensionofconsumers.
MIFAFF revised the Processing of Livestock Products Act in December 1997 to apply HACCP to
slaughterhouses, and a total of 140 sites had been certified as of December 31, 2011. The number of
certifiedslaughterhousesbyyearwas57in2002,107in2003,127in2004,137in2005,141in2006,
and 146 in 2007, but the number was reduced to 145 in 2008, 143 in 2009, 142 in 2010, and 140 in
2011. The HACCP for milk collection centers began on November 27, 2007 and 27 sites have been
certifiedassofar.
