anotherrecentappearanceinhisbackyard.
When inspectors arrived he helped them pinpoint even more diseased plants in
surroundingsuburbs.
"Ithinkweidentifiedsevenoreightpropertieswheretheyhadinfectedbananas,"hesaid
MrKnopkesaiditwascrucialgardenersgotthemessageaboutpreventingbunchytop.
"Ifyoujustdropaplantandthrowitinyourtrailerandtakeittothetip,well,you're
basicallytakingtheaphidtothetip,"hesaid.
"And he says, 'Oh I don't like it here, I'm going to fly off to find a better banana
plant',youknow,andit'sjustcontinuallyspreading,isn'tit."
