Rice(GSR)-Phase III' 공동 프로젝트의 지원으로 ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice
Research와 필리핀의 International Rice Research Institute가 공동으로
참여했습니다.
벼 품종은 또한 leaf blast와 false smut에 저항성이 있으며 세균성
잎마름병(bacterial leaf blight)에 약간의 저항성이 있고 stem borer에 대한 저항성이
있습니다.
한편, DRR Dhan 56은 펀자브(Punjab)와 하리아나(Haryana)의 관개 조건에서
재배하기 위해 출시되었습니다.
ICAR-IIRR의 이사인 Raman Meenakshi Sundaram 박사는 이러한 새로운 쌀 품종이
국가의 쌀 생산을 안정시킬 것이라고 표현하고 개발 및 출시에 관련된 과학자 팀을

ICAR-IIRR releases four new rice varieties
The four new rice varieties namely DRR Dhan 53, DRR Dhan 54, DRR Dhan
55 and DRR Dhan 56 are resistant to bacterial blight to a major extent.
Hyderabad-based research organization, Indian Institute of Rice Research
(ICAR-IIRR) has released four new rice varieties namely DRR Dhan 53, DRR
Dhan 54, DRR Dhan 55 and DRR Dhan 56 recently.
Fine-grain rice varieties like Samba Mahsuri are usually affected due to a
bacterial disease, Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae which in turn reduces yield
of the crop. To curb this type of infections, scientists from ICAR have
developed a novel durable bacterial blight resistant, DRR Dhan 53 which is of
high-yielding, fine-grain rice variety that has four major bacterial resistant
genes introgressed through marker assisted selection.
The variety has been released for cultivation in irrigated and bacterial blight
endemic areas of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Tamil
Nadu, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
